Walking around Plaka streets often hides nice surprises, such as the combination of something modern, inside a clasical building. Moreover, the main choice for a modern museum at Plaka is Frissiras Museum, actually the only museum for Contemporary European Painting in Greece. Its large collections, which house over 4000 pieces of art, constitute the core of its temporary exhibitions that change every few months.
The museum aims to identify and promote new creators and artistic trends, as well as to present established European and Greek painters, by organizing group and solo exhibitions. A must to be at Plaka.
