Besides Plaka galleries there are galleries around Athens as well, located either at Kolonaki, or Metaxourgeio. An area that along with Votanikos, Kerameikos and Gazi didn’t have the same type of urban development as other areas of Athens did, but worked as a center for artists and crafts.
Metaxourgeio is easily accessed by metro. There are four galleries there.
Municipal Gallery of Athens in Avdi square, housing names as George Iakobides, Angelos Giallinas, Nikolaos Lytras, George Bouzianis and Yiannis Moralis.
Rebecca Camhi Gallery (Leonidou 9) – Open since 1995, this gallery housed in a neoclassical building features contemporary art in all media. https://www.rebeccacamhi.com/
